
ELYSE OH
Violinist
Elyse is the Founder and Managing Director of A Seed and a String. She’s played with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, Seattle Chamber Music Academy, and Roosevelt High School Symphony. She has years of teaching experience, mentoring with JazzED and SYSO Summer Music in the past. She currently mentors at Eckstein Middle School’s Strings Workshop where she is closely tied to the school’s orchestra. Her goal is to inspire students and create a community where musicians are encouraged to explore their instruments creatively.

JUHEE JANG
Violinist
Juhee has played the violin in schools ensembles since 4th grade and currently plays in the Roosevelt High School Symphony Orchestra. She has been teaching beginner students at Northwest Collaborative Chamber since 2022. She hopes to help students develop their skills and encourage their passion for music.

ELSA WILDERMUTH
Violinist/Violist
Elsa has been playing solo music on the violin for ten years as well as the viola for three years. She currently plays in Roosevelt High School’s Symphony Orchestra and has previously been involved in multiple community chamber orchestras. She aspires to help young musicians find an early love for music that will last a lifetime.

HOLLY GANTUMUR
Violinist/Violist
Holly is the assistant supervisor of A Seed and a String. She has studied music in the SYSO academic program for 3 years as well as multiple years of summer music through the Marrowstone Music Festival. In addition to being involved with orchestras and teaching for multiple years, she is currently mentoring at Eckstein Middle School’s Strings Workshop. She aspires to spread music and help young musicians grow.

ANNIE FAUL
Bassist
Annie plays in Roosevelt High School’s top jazz band as well as the top orchestra. She’s also been a part of SYSO for many years and is currently in the youth symphony. She won “Outstanding Bassist” at the Essentially Ellington festival, “Outstanding Soloist” at Bellevue College, the “Outstanding Musicianship Award” from the Oregon Jazz Festival and more. She wishes to teach students multiple types of music to create well-rounded musicians.

ELLERY GERMER MILLS
Violinist
Ellery is in many orchestra groups including the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, Roosevelt High School Orchestra and SYSO Chamber music. She has been playing solo music and has been in ensembles since 1st grade. She wishes to teach the value of music to her students and help everyone find love for their instrument.

ANDREW HSU
Violinist
Andrew Hsu has been playing the violin for nine years and is currently a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO), Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra (CYSO), and the Roosevelt High School Orchestra. He has participated in events such as the Solo and Ensemble competition. Andrew hopes to share his valuable skills as a violinist with younger musicians.

MELODY GANTUMUR
Violinist
Melody has been playing the violin for 8 years. She’s played in SYSO for 4 years and has teaching experience through the Eckstein Strings Workshop program.

IVAN LEVY
Trumpeter
Ivan is in a variety of music ensembles including Jazz Band 2, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony. This past year he was part of the state-bound brass quintet, and his jazz band has come in first at Bellevue High School both times they have performed. He has been playing trumpet since 3rd grade. He hopes that everyone feels valued in the musical world, as every musician is important and brings new ideas to the table

PAULINE BECKETT
Saxophonist/Oboist
Pauline loves music and is an active participant in many different forms: orchestral, marching, and jazz. She has played many wind instruments but specializes in both the saxophone and the oboe. She is in her 6th year of extracurricular jazz band and has played with JazzED’s fem jazz band. She is both a section leader in Roosevelt’s Marching Band and Parade Band. Her goal is to inspire young musicians to explore multiple forms of music and feel comfortable making mistakes in order to learn and grow.
